Working together to beat occupational cancer

About

The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) supports the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) in its global efforts to prevent occupational cancer and improve workplace health and safety.

Worldwide, work-related cancer claims at least 742,000 lives each year; more than one death every minute. These cancers are caused by exposure to carcinogens such as asbestos, silica dust, solar radiation, and diesel engine exhaust emissions.

IOSH works internationally to raise awareness of occupational health risks and to promote practical solutions that help employers protect workers. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, IOSH encourages organizations to recognize hazardous exposures and take meaningful action to reduce them.

Together, ADAO and IOSH are committed to advancing awareness of occupational cancer and providing resources that support prevention, safer workplaces, and stronger protections for workers around the world.
